Information for Parklife and Shavuot - Friday 7th till Monday 10th June
THIS YEAR PARKLIFE AND SHAVUOT FALL ON THE SAME WEEKEND
Thankfully, in the 7 years Parklife has been at Heaton Park there have been no antisemitic incidents against the community
There will be Police and Security covering a large area around Heaton Park.
There will also be a manned mobile police van parked near the junction of Bury Old Road and Kings Road for you to report any incidents and to offer reassurance in the evenings.
If you have any concerns, you can also report these to the Parklife control centre based at Maccabi for the weekend.
Opening hours
12:00 PM – 00:00 - Friday
10:00 AM – 00:00 – Saturday and Sunday
IF POSSIBLE STICK TO MAIN ROADS WHEN WALKING AND WALK WITH OTHERS FOR SAFETY
FGH Security will try to discourage people from walking through the Sedgley area, and use the main roads instead.
There will be 1 x security guard at each of these junctions when road closures are enforced:
Sedgley Park Road and Bury New Road
Kings Road and Bury New Road
Richmond Ave and Bury New Road
Kings Road and Bury Old Road
The roads and surrounding areas will be very busy when people start arriving in the area from early afternoon and when the concert finishes at 11:00pm
On the whole, the atmosphere and the people attending will be good natured but please still be aware and be cautious that at 11:00pm over 60,000 people will be leaving the park.
