VIRTUAL MEGILLA READINGS VIA ZOOM 682 767 9111

Dear Member,

I have been asked about the shul having zoom megilla readings and I would like to answer the question posed to me.

Halachically, one has not fulfilled their obligation of hearing the megilla when it is read on zoom.  For this reason, I would urge anyone who isn’t vulnerable or shielding to try and hear the megilla in person.  We will be having secure and extra secure readings with increased social distancing as well as offering private readings for people in a legal and socially distanced manner.  If you would like to take advantage of any of the above options please be in contact with the shul.

In cases where people are vulnerable and cannot avail themselves to any of the above options there is no obligation to hear the megilla.  However,  in order to allow people to still feel part of the community, we will be streaming the megilla via zoom at the same time as it will be read in shul.

The times are:         Thursday 25th February                6.45pm and 9pm

                                    Friday 26th February                    7.40am and 10.30am

PLEASE NOTE ONCE THE MEGILLA READING HAS COMMENCED NOBODY ELSE WILL BE ABLE TO THE ENTER THE MEETING, SO PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE ON TIME.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Purim.

Rabbi Dovid Eisenberg
